Sally Jean Cox, 86, of Amarillo died January 7, 2021.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 11, 2021 at First Baptist Church Chapel, 1208 S. Tyler. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.
Sally was born January 27, 1934 in Amarillo, TX to E.B. and Mettie Mae Morford. She married Robert “Bob” Cox in 1948 in Clovis, NM. Sally was a member of Bolton St. Baptist Church and worked at Levi Strauss for many years. She enjoyed bowling, watching soap operas and game shows, decorating and going to all of her children’s and grandchildren’s special events. Sally was infectiously known as “Grammer” and “Granny” to all of her grandchildren whom she loved so dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Juanita Nash; brother, Gary Morford; and granddaughter, Mallory Jean Armstrong.
Sally is survived by her husband of 72 years, Robert “Bob” Cox; son, Larry Cox and wife Margaret, daughter, Pam Lee and husband Jerry, and daughter, Kathy Armstrong; sisters, Deanie Sandefer and Glenda Johnston; grandchildren, Heather Lemons, Brian Lee, Mindy Odom, Toby Lee, Ryan Cox, Mitch Armstrong and Mark Armstrong; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild.
