Samantha Ann Estrada-Bleiweiss

Samantha Ann Estrada Bleiweiss passed away May 12, 2020 in Arlington, TX.

Samantha was born June 15, 1980 to Floyd Estrada Jr. and Mary Alice Escobedo Rael in Alpine, TX. Samantha graduated from Whiteface High School in 1998 and enlisted in the Navy right after graduation.

Samantha served 5 years in the Navy as a Systems Organizational Apprentice Maintenance Technician. She received the Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Good Conduct Medal. She was recognized by the Department of the Navy for her outstanding performance and dedication in leading the Bluetail Work Center of the Quarter in 2001 and in the same year received a letter of appreciation for her participation in the “Paint Your Heart Out Norfolk.”

Samantha left the Navy after learning that she was to become a mother to a beautiful baby girl, Jocelynn Kamay, and later to another beautiful daughter, August “Hazel” Sky and a handsome son, Henry Landon.

Samantha relentlessly pursued her education in Professional Career Development Institute where she received her diploma as a Professional Nutrition Specialist, in 2008 she received her Associate in Arts, and in 2012 she received her Bachelor of Science Cum Laude.

She worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and began her journey in social work with the Department of Family and Protective Services. Samantha was also an advocate for abused women and children.

Samantha loved being outdoors and staying active, especially anything that involved her children and family. Samantha had an incredibly unique and contagious laughter that would fill the room. She was a giving person and always welcomed an opportunity to help whoever and whenever needed. She was known for her love for Sunflowers and Sunshine.

Samantha was preceded in death by her father Flavio “Floyd” Estrada Jr. and grandparents, Frank and Alicia Escobedo. She is survived by her mother, Mary Alice Escobedo Rael; her sisters, Georgia Estrada and Jackie Torres; her 3 children, Jocelynn Kamay, August Hazel Sky, and Landon Bleiweiss; 3 nephews, and 3 nieces.

Samantha will always be remembered for her positive attitude and impact, putting everyone else's needs before her own, her laughter, her love, and her friendship were exceedingly infectious.

A Military Honors Service will be held at Schooler Funeral Home located at 4100 South Georgia Amarillo, TX 79110 on Friday July 31st at 2:00 PM. If you are planning on attending, please bring a mask with you.
