Santos Herrera Valdez, 61, of Amarillo, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016.
Rosary will be said 6:00 pm Friday at Schooler Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday May 14 at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 2300 N Spring, Amarillo with Rev. Felipe Alvarez as celebrant. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Santos was born April 7, 1955 in Durango, Mexico to Juan Herrera Sepulveda and Celia Valdez Herrera. He married Irma Martinez August 12, 1993. He worked at International Paper as a machine operator for 15 years. He was a very hard working husband and father, always providing for his family. He was very motivational and energetic, from sun up to sun down. He will be missed very much by family and friends and will always be remembered as the great man he always was.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and his brother, Bernardo Herrera.
Santos is survived by his wife; two daughters, Nancy Herrera Fierro and husband, Maclovio Fierro of Amarillo, and Sandra Herrera of Puerto Rico; two sons, Santos Herrera Jr. and Lionel Herrera, both of Amarillo; one sister, Maria Del Socorro Herrera Valdez of Durango, Mexico; one brother, Felipe Herrera Valdez of Durango, Mexico; his father, Juan Herrera Sepulveda of Durango, Mexico; and five grandchildren, Xzavier Herrera, Nevaeh Herrera, Lionel Herrera, Jr., Ivory Bella Herrera, and Cameron Herrera.
