Sara Michele Youree, 58, of Amarillo, died Sunday, February 24, 2013.
Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cathedral, 1200 S. Washington, on Thursday, February 28 at 10:00 am with Monsignor Harold Waldow officiating. Inurnment will follow at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Sara was born in Borger, Texas on October 21, 1954, the third of six children. She was a loving mother to her two children Chris and Michele, a devoted daughter, and an appreciative sister.
Sara graduated from Amarillo High School and spent much of her career cooking for children at day care centers and elementary schools. She had a gentle nature, was quick with a smile, and enjoyed simple pleasures. She amassed a large collection of salt and pepper shakers, enjoyed watching television, and loved family gatherings. She and her daughter were the best of friends.
Sara’s father James Binzegger and son Chris predeceased her.
She is survived by her mother Lola Binzegger, daughter Michele, sisters Janet Lea of Austin, Shari Davis of Houston, Bari Walker of Tyler, Suzan Diller of Dallas and brother Jay Binzegger of Lakewood, Washington, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Prayer service and visitation will be on Wednesday, February 27, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
