Selsa Aragon Chavez 89 passed away, May 14, 2015, in Amarillo.
Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m., on Sunday, May 17, at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 18, 2015 at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Msgr. Rex Nicholl officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Selsa was born December 6, 1925, in Montoya, New Mexico to Jose and Apolonaria Benavides Aragon. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Selsa delighted in her family and loved the holidays.
Selsa is preceded in death by her husband Margarito Chavez in 1996, her parents, four sisters, two brothers and a son Richard Sisneros.
She is survived by her daughter Mary Lomeli and husband Victor; four sons Henry Sisneros and wife Rosie, Mario Chavez, Edward Chavez, and Lawrence Chavez and wife Sharon; a sister Mary Alarid all of Amarillo; two brothers Mike Aragon and wife Theo of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and Rudy Aragon of Las Cruces, New Mexico; nineteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren.
