Sharon Kay Gibbins Bean, 66 of Amarillo died Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at San Jacinto Church of Christ, 823 Mississippi, with Mr. Dale Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia, Thursday June 17, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.Sharon was born August 9, 1943 in Lubbock, Texas to Arthur William Gibbins Sr. and Patricia Loraine Goodman Gibbins. She was the oldest of three children.Sharon was a loving wife, doting mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a homemaker after retiring from bookkeeping for 35 years. Sharon enjoyed many hobbies some of which included; interior decorating, gourmet cooking, gardening, especially in her rose gardens, oil painting, scrapbooking, knitting and needle point. Her home is beautifully decorated with all of her wonderful creations. She was an avid reader and always had several books going at once. Sharon  was also a master genealogist. Her research skills and unparalleled attention to detail enabled her to finish both hers and her husband’s family lineage. Most of all she enjoyed being “Na-Na” to her grandchildren and getting to spend time with them was the highlight of her days. Sharon will always be remembered for her honesty, integrity, unsurpassed creativity and beauty. She was preceded in death by her father Arthur William Gibbins Sr. in 2004. She is survived by her husband Carl Bean Jr.; daughter Tonya Kay Bean Gregory; granddaughters, Kayla and Lauren Gregory; and grand-dog Ladybug, all of Amarillo; mother Patricia (Pat) Loraine Goodman of Files Valley, Texas; brother Bill Gibbins of Files Valley, Texas; and sister Mary Gail Gibbins Weatherford of Hartley Texas.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to High Plains Children’s Home at 11461 S. Western Amarillo, Texas 79114 or Amarillo College Bible Chairs at 823 S. Mississippi Amarillo, Texas 79106.
