Sherian Beatrice Cook

Sherian Beatrice Matthews Sanders Cook, age 64, of Amarillo, Texas, wife of Carl E. Cook, passed into the presence of the Lord on December 12, 2013, in Amarillo, Texas.  She was born May 10, 1949, in Dalhart, Texas, the daughter of Carl Edward and Unie Beatrice Turpin Matthews.  She had worked for 25 years as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 21, 2013 in Harvest Christian Fellowship, 4808 South Bonham, with Jim Bayless officiating.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.

Survivors include her husband, Carl E. Cook of Amarillo; her mother, Unie Beatrice Matthews of Amarillo; a brother, Richard Carl Matthews of Amarillo; children Donald Ray and Jana Mylene Sanders, Jr. of Amarillo and Eddie Aaron Sanders of Amarillo; two step-children, Stephanie Dawn and Calton Harvey of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Mark Douglas Cook of Wichita, Kansas; three grandchildren, Tessa Noel Sanders, Raven Morae Sanders, and Anthony Mason Sanders all of Amarillo; eight step-grandchildren, Faith Mylene Surber, Felicia Jordan Surber both of Amarillo, Grace Olivia Ann Harvey and Dylan Calton Harvey both of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kiara Dinelle Cook, Jadah Lily Cook, Jalynn Sharon Cook, and Jake Marcus Cook all of Amarillo; two great-grandchildren, Austin Lee Gomez and Lily Sanders both of Amarillo.

Sherian was preceded in death by her father, Carl Edward Matthews, one step-grandson, Spencer Thomas Harvey; and daughter-in-law, Judy Lynn Bernier Sanders.
