Shirley Marie Mager

Shirley Marie Mager, age 91 of Amarillo, entered the gates of Heaven on January 20, 2023.

A rosary and vigil service will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 7:00 PM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4100 Coulter St. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, and then followed by a graveside service at Llano Cemetery.

Shirley was born in Denver, Colorado, on August 17, 1931. She was adopted at the age of three by Nellie and George Weinman. She met the love of her life Dr. Robert ‘Bob’ Earl Mager, a well respected US Air Force officer, on a blind date. On April 23, 1955, the couple was married in Denver and began their love story that would last the next 50 years until Bob’s passing in 2005.

Shirley and Bob were blessed with five daughters and one son. She valued having a large family, and she realized her role was to instill love and faith in all of them. She was very active in the catholic church, which included playing the organ, singing in the choir, being a Third Order Carmelite, and organizing the schedule for the traveling Pilgrim Virgin of Fatima Statue.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bob.

Shirley is survived by their children: Missy and Tim Moore, Michelle and Richard Lamberson, Diane and Danny Lee, Dee Dee and Paul Tiffany, Bobbie and Greg Crooks, and Steve and Sharla Mager.

Their grandchildren: Shawn Moore (Christy), Brandon Moore (Emily), Veronica Ocariz (Esteban), Kristen Brandon (Jordan), Jordan Lee (Alexandria), Alex Lee (Raini), Madison Lee, Brent Tiffany (Jackie), Nicole Tiffany, Kalee Bodey, Taylor Bodey, and Ben Mager.

Their great grandchildren: Garrison, Foster, Troxell, and Lena Moore, Braily Moore, Cruz and Asher Ocariz, Hayes Brandon, Melaney and Quinten Lee, Collin and Parker Lee.
