Slaton was born on October 12, 1986 to Daniel and Rhonda Ann Orr in Amarillo, Texas. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 2005 and attended St. Johns College in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Survivors include his parents; sister, Melissa “Missy” Harmon of Wichita, Kansas; grandparents, Marshall and Barbara Tilley of Amarillo and George and Joanne Orr of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
