Stephen L. Green passed away February 4, 2021.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 8, 2021 at Palo Duro Cowboy Church. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.,Amarillo, Texas.
He was born on November 24, 1954 to Bob and Marilyn Green in Christopher, Illinois.
Steve grew up in Benton, Illinois then moved to Texas in 1972. He met the love of his life, Karen and married on August 10, 1978. They had 2 children, Arista and Shaunda.
Steve and Karen went on to own the Jubilee, Roll America and Patriot Skating Rinks. Later in life, they opened the Canyon Tobacco Shop.
Steve was only a semester away from achieving his master’s degree in history from West Texas A&M University. In 2020, he published his first book “A Collector’s Dream Sharpshooting during the Civil War“
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Marilyn Green.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Arista Penrod and husband, Kelly of Dumas, Texas and Shaunda Stoughton of Pampa, Texas; grandkids, Tyler Stoughton, Madison Stoughton, James Penrod and Emma Penrod, Addison Armstrong; brother Scott Green and wife Karen of Amarillo, Texas; sister Gail Hefley of Amarillo, Texas. Also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
