Steven Eugene McKown

Steven Eugene McKown, age 57, died, Wednesday, March 31, 2010.  A Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 3rd, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Brentwood Chapel, Schooler Funeral Home. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.Steve was born on November 24, 1952, to Leland Eugene and Jeane Townes McKown in Amarillo, TX.  He graduated from Caprock High School and then graduated from Amarillo College with a degree in Heating and Air. He lived a good part of his life in Dallas, where he owned and operated McKown Mechanical for many years. He retired from his business, in 2005. He is preceded in death by his parents.He is survived by his life-long companion, Candelaria Portillo of Amarillo; his daughters, Amber McKown and Stephanie McKown Thomas both of Dallas; his sister, Brenda Archer of Amarillo; and his grandchildren, Alexis, David, Ashley and Kirby. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to a favorite charity of your choice.
