Ted Lee Hale

September 28, 1933 — October 7, 2011


Ted Lee Hale, of Amarillo, entered the gates of heaven Friday, October 7, 2011. Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in St. Stephen United Methodist Church, 4600 South Western with Rev. Don Travis officiating.  Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

Ted was born to William Benton Hale and Ethel Viola (French) Hale in Goodwell, Okla.  He lived in Goodwell and graduated from Goodwell High School. He served in the United States Army.  Ted attended both WTAMU and OPSU receiving his bachelors and master’s degree.  He was  principal, coach and teacher at Adrian ISD for 37 years before retiring in 1995.  He loved reading, yard care, watching sports and sitting on the porch visiting with family.

Family will receive visitors at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers; Aaron, Earnest, Ralph, and W.W. Hale and four sisters, Pat Dixon, Thelma Garrett, Wilma Jo Byerly, and Viola Abbott.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of Amarillo; his children, Teddi Hale of Amarillo, Rosie Holmes and husband Ronnie of Merkel, TX, Monty Hale and wife Sherry of Adrian, Billy Beddingfield and wife Kristine of Aledo, TX, Keith Beddingfield and wife Christine of Sanford, FL, Missy McKee and husband Rodney of Riverside, CA; 12 grandchildren, Ryan, Rusty, Jason Holly, Karen, Vason, Jessica, Justin, Savannah, Sarah, Walker and Matthew; 7 Great-grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan, Lily, Kaylie, Cooper, Harper and Riley; Two sisters, Mary Phelps of Weatherford, OK and Fern Webster of Darrouzett, TX; and one  brother Mose Hale of Wimberly, TX.
