Teresa Fajardo Lucero, 90, of Amarillo, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014. Mass will be said 2:00 P.M. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Jose Gomez and Father Rex Nicholl as concelebrants. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Teresa was born April 15, 1924 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico to Augustine and Luisa (Ortiz) Fajardo. She attended Our Lady of Guadalupe School in Amarillo. She married Edward Lucero on December 7, 1941 in Clarendon, Texas. Teresa was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Amarillo as well as one of the original members of “The Guadalupanas.” She resided the last five years of her life in Rockdale, TX.
Teresa is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years; parents; and siblings, Paula Sena, Mary Romero, Alice Floyd, Guadalupe Fajardo and Louis Fajardo.
She is survived by her son, Edward Joe Lucero and wife Angie of Amarillo; daughters, Maria Sandra Cera of Amarillo, Patsy Lucero Olivas of Rockdale, Mary Louise Lucero of Amarillo, and Virginia Lucero Avena of Amarillo; 22 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and 22 great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Edward Daniel Baca, David Jesus Baca, Jerry Dean Lucero, Chon Montelongo Jr., Edward Lucero III, Timothy James Lucero and Harold Hernandez, Jr.
