Teresa, better known as Terri, was born on June 8, 1966 in Canyon, Texas. She graduated from Panhandle High School. Terri was a talented and driven individual that had several careers ranging from becoming a Physical Therapist Tech at BSA to completing training at Amarillo college to become a Mechanical Assembler for Bell Helicopter, where she worked until her health declined.
There were a few things in life that Terri loved, hunting and ballooning were a few of them. Deer season was a happy time for her and she and Jerry could often be found outside of Childress as soon as the season started. Another interest she had was hot air ballooning, she was a part of a balloon team for several years. Although she loved those hobbies, they could not compare to the love she held for her family and friends. Throughout her life she became “that” mom the adopted her children’s friends and provided them with a safe haven. They became like her own children and she loved them.
On December 8, 2000 she married Jerry in Amarillo and her family grew a little more with the addition of a step-son. Family was Terri’s number one priority and if she knew you, she considered you to be family. She took pride in everything her kids did including being a proud Marine mom. Her life was made complete when surrounded by those she loved, specifically her precious “princesses” granddaughters. They were the light of her life and brought her great joy, even during the hardest of her days. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, grandmother, mother, daughter, sister and friend that loved without limits.
Terri was preceded in death by her step-father, Corky Skaggs; an uncle, Alvino Perez; and by her father-in-law, Warren Stevens.
She is survived by her husband Jerry; her daughter Tamara Marie Buck and her husband Jacob of Greely, Colorado; her son Austin Patrick Spies and his wife Hannah of Amarillo; her step-son Skyler Keith Stevens and his significant other Lacy of Amarillo; her mother, Mary Skaggs; her father, Guillermo “Willie” Perez Sr. and his wife, Georgia; mother-in-law, Jean Stevens; her sisters, Victoria Perez, Corinna Gilbreath and Mary Ester Swafford; her brother, Willie Perez Jr.; and her two precious granddaughters, Caroline Kay and Delilah Gene Buck.
