Terry A. "Booty" Curtis, 79, of Amarillo passed away Tuesday, August 4th, 2015. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 7th, 2015 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Private interment will be held at Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home.
Booty was born in Amarillo, March 4, 1936 to Eli and Adrienne Curtis. He attended Amarillo High School and earned a business degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Throughout his life he remained a faithful fan and supporter of the Amarillo Sandies and UT Longhorns.
In 1957, Booty married his college sweetheart, Melonye Lowe of Jacksonville, Texas. The couple resided in Marshall, Texas and later moved to Amarillo where Terry founded Curtis Company Realtors.
Booty was an avid sportsman, spending a great amount of time hunting and fishing, often with friends and family. Being outdoors with good company was a favorite hobby of his.
Many were impacted by Booty, whose warm, caring and loving character made it a privilege to call him "friend." He was beloved beyond measure by his immediate and extended family.
Booty was preceded in death by his wife, Melonye in 2007. He leaves behind his significant other, Rita Tyler, daughter Caytie Martin and husband, Barry, and son Tom, all of Amarillo; grandson Chad of Amarillo, granddaughter Channing Moore and husband, Sam of Nacogdoches, and his brother Tom Curtis and wife Jan of Livingston, Montana, along with a large extended family and loving dogs.
The family suggest memorials to the Melonye Curtis Child Care Scholarship, in care of Amarillo College Foundation, P.O. Box 447, Amarillo, TX 79178.
