Leslie was born to H.A. and Ruby Lee Sewell on September 25, 1943 in Hereford, Texas. He grew up in Amarillo graduating from Palo Duro High School and attended Amarillo College. He married his beautiful wife of 44 years, Donna, on October 7, 1965. He spent thirteen and a half years in the Army; he served in the 173rd Airborne Division from 1965 to 1966, and was in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. Once back home Leslie shared the important moments of his life with his lovely and devoted wife Donna and their children, Crystal and Brian. He loved the outdoors; hunting and fishing were his hobbies. He could be found, accompanied by his best friend M.C. Hall and his faithful canine companion, Duke, relaxing and enjoying the finer moments of life.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Nicki Meza.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; a daughter, Crystal Meza and husband, Marcy of Amarillo, TX; one son, Brian Sewell and wife, Joyce of Purcell, OK; and six grandchildren.
