Theda Joyce Taylor

Theda Joyce Taylor, age 87 died August 12, 2014 in Amarillo.
Funeral Services will be at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel on Saturday, August 16th at 2:00 PM.  The Rev. Scott Raines of St. Paul United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Theda was born in Farwell, TX on November 13, 1926 to Albert and Bessie White.   She married Lloyd R. Taylor on November 6, 1945 in Lubbock.
Theda was a long term employee of Santa Fe Railroad where she worked as a train order clerk and telephone operator.  After retirement she and Lloyd cherished time spent traveling to visit the children and grandchildren and also embarked on several cruises.
She enjoyed knitting, gardening, the occasional game of Canasta and cooking for family and friends.  Theda also gave her time to others by volunteering for the NWTH Ladies Auxiliary and was a charter member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd in 2001 and by four brothers, Wilbert, Milbert, Henry and Joe.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Vo Thien and the staff of Vibra Healthcare for the care given to Theda and the compassion showed towards the family throughout this time.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 7 PM.
Theda is survived by her two daughters, Helen West and husband Bob of McKinney, TX and Karen Griswold and her husband Larry of Santa Fe, Texas; her son, Dean Taylor of McGregor, TX; her brother Gwynne White of Amarillo, TX; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
