Thomas William Oldham

Thomas William Oldham, age 70 died on February 2, 2023 at his home in Amarillo.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.

Thomas was born on May 18, 1952 in Tucumcari, New Mexico to his parents Luke and Ada Elizabeth Johnson Oldham.

He served in the US Army during the Vietnam era.  Thomas was the epitome of the strong silent type.  He was a man of few words and could be a bit stubborn. He was proud of his children and loved them to the best of his abilities.

Thomas worked in the grocery business his entire life, from 1971 until 1991 he worked as produce supervisor.  Throughout his career he worked for United, Albertsons and Kroger.  He moved to Amarillo from Dallas about six years ago to be closer to family.

He loved John Wayne and George Strait.  He also enjoyed fishing and particularly was fond of Ute Lake.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Judy McDonald and Jackie O’Connell; and by a brother, Leslie Oldham.

He is survived by his daughters, Sherice Oldham and her husband Kevin Kidd of Irving and Shannon Brittain and her husband David of Amarillo; by his son, Toby Oldham of Amarillo; by a sister, Sharon Ford of Seymour; by a brother, Wesley Oldham and his wife Renee of Beresford, South Dakota; and by his grandchildren, Travis, David and Brody Brittain and Austin Kidd.
