Tom was born October 6, 1916 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Stephen and Margaret Scivally. He attended Oklahoma A&M and volunteered for the service in 1940. He was in the 451st Bomb Squadron, stationed in the European Theater during WWII. He returned home and married Frankie O’Rear in 1946 in Altus, Oklahoma. Tom and Frankie owned a grocery store in Gould, Oklahoma prior to moving to Amarillo. They had two daughters, Susan and Mary Margaret, while living in Gould. The family moved to Amarillo and opened Scivally’s Affiliated Food Store, which he owned and operated until 1978.
When his daughters attended Baylor, he was an officer in the Baylor Parent’s League and continued to be involved after they graduated. Tom was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church where he was actively involved. He loved spending time with his family. Tom was an avid sports fan.
Tom is survived by his wife, Frankie of Amarillo; two daughters, Susan McLeod and husband Charles of Plano, and Mary Margaret Browder and husband Bruce of Dallas; his nephew Billy Scivally of Amarillo; cousins S. W. Carmack of San Angelo and Martha Norwood of Frederick, OK; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a very large extended family.
