Tommie Lou Swayden

Tommie was born February 6 in Selman, OK to Rasheed and Juria Mady Swayden. She was raised in Longdale, OK and moved to Amarillo in 1948. She began work at Santa Fe Railroad and was employed there for thirty-eight years, until her retirement in January, 1987. Tommie was all about family. Although she never had children, she treated all of her nieces and nephews as her own. She was a devout Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Dick Swayden, Kelly Swayden and Bob Swayden, and her sister Lou Geiger.
She is survived by two sisters, Florine Wilkins and Margaret Johnston, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Leroy Swayden and George Swayden, both of Kansas, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to a favorite charity.
