Vannie Long, 95, of Amarillo died January 11, 2015.
Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon with Pastor Chester Beavers officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia St.
Vannie was born on March 6, 1919, in Ralph Switch, TX to Hernon and Annie Mae Robertson. She grew up in Canyon and had lived in Amarillo for more than 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons, Virgil Payton Cox and Jack Dean Smith; and 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Survivors include 2 sons, Rex Smith and wife, Jan, of Amarillo and Jimmy Cox, of Aurora, CO; 2 daughters, Deanna Dickman and husband, Garry, of Idledale, CO, Gail Jaycox and husband, Jake of San Bernadino, CA; 1 daughter in law, Pat Smith of Amarillo; one brother, Owen Robertson and wife, Judy of Amarillo; a huge number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews; and 2 sisters in law, Bonnie Robertson and Anna Robertson, both of Amarillo.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 PM today at the funeral home.
