Velma Cupell

Velma Cupell, 86, of Amarillo died Wednesday, August 4, 2010. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel 4100 S Georgia, with the Dr. Doug Mills, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Velma was born Oct. 5, 1923, in Happy, Texas to Bennie Lee and May Cupell. She was a lifetime resident of Canyon and Amarillo.  She was an exceptional caregiver of her family for many years.  For the last two years she had resided at Park Central Retirement Community.  The family would like to thank the many people at Harrington Assisted Living, Moore Assisted Living, and Ware Living Center for their loving care during these two years. Survivors include a brother, Bennie Joe Cupell; one niece, Vera Mae Sanders of Sayer, OK; four nephews, Bobby Chapman and wife Sherry of Dickinson, Duane Chapman and wife Debbie of Canyon, Alan Cupell and wife Tricia of Canyon and Claude Cupell and wife Shannon of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to the Hope Fund at Park Central Retirement Community, 1300 S. Harrison St., Amarillo, TX 79101, or to Trinity United Methodist Church, 3402 S. Jackson St, Amarillo, TX  79109.The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
