Peggy Gillispie, 81 of Amarillo died Friday, June 22, 2012 in Amarillo.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, in First Baptist Church, Groom, Texas with Rev. Larry Heard and Rev. Thacker Harris officiating. Burial will be in Groom Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Mrs. Gillispie was born on August 20, 1930 to Noah and Dora McDougal in Lamesa, Texas. She married John E. Gillispie on October 20, 1947. She actively pastored with her husband many churches.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John E. Gillispie on 4-6, 2007; seven brothers; and her special friend Leonard Ball.
Survivors include four daughters, Darlene Nunn, Beverly MaGouirk, and Kim Daily and husband, Pat all of Amarillo, and Jacque Riley and husband Joe of McLean; six grandchildren, Chris, Shaun, Jason, Randi, Lauren and Addison; four great-grandchildren, Nyla, Bud, Jordyn and Olive.
Family suggests memorials be made to your favorite charity.
