Virginia Lee Dungan

July 25, 1942 — February 9, 2012

Ginger Trussell Dungan died Thursday, February 9, 2012 in Amarillo.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. – Monday, February 13, 2012, at Schooler Funeral Home – Brentwood Chapel, with Rev. V.A. Trussell officiating.  Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. in Farview Cemetery, Memphis, Texas.  Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.

Ginger was born on July 25, 1942 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Ardell and LaVerne Trussell.  She married Jim Dungan, the love of her life, on March 31, 1978 in Amarillo.  She worked for Santa Fe Railroad for 40 years and loved her job in Albuquerque, NM and Topeka, KS.

She was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church and loved to sing, always in the church choir, especially the hymns of old country music.  Ginger was an avid exerciser for health reasons.  She loved soap operas and had a great sense of humor.  Her family was her priority and she was a big part of the children’s lives, and she loved spending time with them.  She will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank Odyssey and Seville Estates for the loving care expressed.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her Aunt Goldie Lile.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Dungan, three sisters, Fran Roscoe and husband, Fred of Amarillo, Cindy Cotgreave and husband, Bruce of Amarillo, and Sharon Rivers of Hamilton, OH; one Brother, V.A. Trussell and wife, Alta of Mansfield, TX; many nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own children, Denise, Kim, Kevin, Terri, Stefanie, Melanie, Tiffany, Tenille, Jenny, Jane, Dee, and Jim, including, 18 great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-3:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
