Virginia Fowler 83, of Amarillo died January 5, 2015.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Gumfory and Tyson Womble officiating. Burial will be held 3:00 PM Thursday in Mulberry Cemetery, in Sweetwater Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia St.
Virginia was born on October 16, 1931, in Erick, Oklahoma, to Walter and Eunice Hobbs Reed. She married the love of her life, Jimmy Fowler, in Wheeler, on July 17, 1948. Virginia became a Christian at 18 years of age, she was saved and she loved the Lord Jesus ever since. She attended church all her life. Her greatest desire was to lead others to Jesus Christ. Virginia made fourteen overseas missions trips. She also took many mission’s trips to other churches here in the U.S. Virginia was employed, as the Sears Catalog Manager for 18 years. She was a member of the TEE Club of Randall County, a Sunday school worker, a City Church worker and a participant in the International Commission. She was a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Dorothy Hanna and Fran Webster.
Survivors include her husband; her daughters, Connie Adkison of Mansfield, Sandra Gumfory of Gruver, and Jan Cook of Lubbock; her two sisters, Merle Neill of Edmond, OK and Faye DeVillis of Farmington, NM; her brother, M.J. Reed of Amarillo; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to City Church, 305 Polk.
