Virginia Rogers McNeely, 91, formerly of Amarillo died October 20, 2021.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm, Friday, October 29, 2021 at Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Interment will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 30, 2021 in Llano Mausoleum Chapel. Memorial service will follow at 11:00 am, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2525 Wimberly. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.
Virginia was born in Amarillo and had lived here most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Charles M. Rogers, former superintendent of the Amarillo Public Schools, and Marjorie D. Rogers. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1948, attended Amarillo College, and received a Bachelor’s degree from McMurry College in Abilene. She married Ralph McNeely in 1952.
She taught elementary school in Amarillo and Lubbock, and worked in the medical field for over 30 years. She was the Business Manager for Radiological Associates for 15 years before her retirement in 1993. She served as the first president of Medical Managers of Amarillo from 1988-1989.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church since 1960, where she served terms as a Deacon and an Elder, and sang in the church choir for many years. She also sang in the Amarillo Civic Chorus for several years.
She lived her final years in Plano, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles M. Rogers, her mother Marjorie D. Rogers, and her sister Ruth M. Rogers.
She is survived by her daughter Lynn Wilson and husband Jimmy Wilson, and by her grandson James Wilson, and by her granddaughter Holly Graves and husband Jonathan Graves, as well as two great grandsons.
