A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 4:00 PM at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel with Sherman Eastland, Chaplain Odyssey Healthcare will officiate. Walter “Butch” Morris was born on June 27, 1950 to Gene Morris and Beulah Edwards in Matador Texas. He was a member of the Baptist Church and served in the United States Army. Butch spent most of his life as a cowboy and more recently a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing and his favorite place to fish was Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. He was a horse trainer and spent his time breaking horses. Butch had a generous and loving demeanor. He had lived in Oklahoma City for several years but had moved to Amarillo to be with his family.He is survived by; sisters Dorothy Graves and husband Johnny of Amarillo, Texas, Zela Young and husband Manuel of Sunray, Texas, Delma Collingsworth and husband Mike of Ty, Texas; Step-father, Jim Chambers of Amarillo; special friends Rebecca, Cathy, Matt, David and Carol; and many nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be sent to V.A.
