Warren B. Barnes, 86, of Amarillo died Thursday, December 6, 2012.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Glen Walton officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Warren was born June 17, 1926, in Hammon, Ok to Warren G. and Maudie Parks Barnes. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Ora and Bertie Lee Owens. He farmed for many years in Oklahoma before moving to Amarillo. He married Patricia Lowder on May 23, 1948, in Canute, Ok.
Warren and Patricia were residents of Amarillo for 56 years. He was a member of Bell Avenue Church of Christ. They celebrated their 63rd anniversary in 2011.
He enjoyed traveling with RV clubs, and telling numerous stories from his childhood. He was a very honest and fair man and strongly believed in what was right. He loved his family and all his friends of which he was blessed with many.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2011; two sons, Terry and Kenneth: and one sister, Kemmie Lee Campbell.
Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Anderson and husband Tommy of Branson, Mo., Debbie Thompson of Amarillo and Lesa Barnes of Gilbert, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and one great- great grandson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
