Warren Stephens, 92 of Amarillo died January 2, 2015.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 P.M., Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel with Chaplain Melissa Griswald officiating. Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia St.
Warren was born on January 22, 1922 in Blanket, Brown County, Texas to Amon Benjamen Stephens and Mary Etta Aaron. He attended school in Turkey, and graduated from Turkey High School in 1941. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II as a firefighter. Warren married Frances Walters on February 22, 1946 in Tulia. He worked as a pipefitter for Texaco Refinery for 35 years, retiring in 1941. He enjoyed having a beautiful vegetable garden for many years.
Warren is survived by his wife; a daughter, Cindy Stephens Wallace of Amarillo; a son Phil Stephens of New Philadelphia, Ohio; a brother Billy Rex Stephens and wife Fadella of San Antonio; four grandchildren, James Warren Wallace and wife Allison, Matthew Lee Wallace all of Claxton, GA, Sheena Grzechowick and husband Harry of Borger, and Robbie Stephens of Amarillo.
Family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
