Mr. Dodson was born in Lindsey, OK and raised in Denton, OK. He served our country gracefully in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He helped build and served on the USS Tucson. He married Thelma Shaw on August 10, 1944 in San Francisco, CA. He worked for Phillips Petroleum in Borger for almost 35 years as an electrician until retirement. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and gardening. He was especially passionate about his pecan trees. He had a dry sense of humor, was a hard worker, very generous, and loved his family. He was loyal to those he loved, a person of few words. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma and his brother, Thurman Dodson.
He is survived by one daughter, Janice Newburg of Amarillo; one son, Paul Dodson of Marlow, OK; three grandchildren, Shane Dodson of Paducah, Ray Newburg and Brandon Newburg, both of Amarillo; four great grandchildren, Blake Dodson, Reanna Dodson, Gabriel Newburg, and Olivia Newburg.
