Wesley C. Kloppenborg, 94, of Amarillo passed away August 12, 2020.

Wesley was born in Fairfield, Nebraska January 29, 1926. He grew up on a farm and on December 5, 1948 married the love of his life, Betty Marie White. He joined the military and served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force in 1969 and moved back to Amarillo where he was a full-time flight instructor at Tradewind Airport. He and Betty moved to Nebraska in 1973 to take care of family and became lifetime members of the “Retread Motorcycle Club” riding all over the country on their Honda Goldwing. In 1979, they returned to the Texas Panhandle where he lived until his passing.
Wesley was preceded in death by his lovely wife of 50 years, Betty Marie White and his son, David Lee Kloppenborg.
He is survived by two daughters, Vicki Johnson and Debbie White, both of Amarillo, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild due in February 2021.
