Mr. Alger was born November 2, 1927 to John Alger and Lillie Davis Alger in Letona, Arkansas. He was raised in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. He entered the United States Army in 1945-1948 were he was a mechanic. He married Liselotte “Lilo” Scheu in Berlin Germany October 9, 1948. He was a hard worker, farmer, and rancher. His favorite saying was “If it needs to be done get it done.” He attended Country Church and was an avid animal lover.Preceded in death by his parents; his wife in November 25, 2008; three brothers; and one sister.Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Guinn and husband Butch, and Shirley Perry and husband Mike, all of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Donnie Guinn and wife Jinger of Amarillo, Kristy Thurman and husband Gary of Aurora, Colo., and Sean Hunton and wife Chrystal of Canyon; five great-grandchildren; and many other friends and family members.The family suggests memorials be to Kirkland Court Nursing Home, 1601 Kirkland Drive,
