William “Bill” Frey, 68, of Amarillo died July 31, 2014.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Hillside Christian Church Amarillo South Campus, 6901 South Bell, with Pastor Chuck Neal officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 South Georgia.
Bill was born November 29, 1945 to Harry and Mary Mildred Frey. He attended the University of Nebraska and was a diehard fan of the Cornhuskers. He moved to Amarillo in 1970. Upon arrival in Amarillo he became a member of the Rotary Club. He met his loving wife, Betty at the Villa in 1974. They got married April 10, 1976. Through the years Bill was in business with his parents and sister in various businesses with in the Motel, Restaurant, and farming industries. He was very active and had a unique since of humor. Some of Bill’s favorite moments were spent with his grandchildren and family. Bill would always put the needs of others before his own and would do anything for his children. Bill loved playing blackjack and became quiet the gambler. He will be dearly missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Frey Porter.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty, his children, Jimmy Frey and wife Sally of Corpus Christi, Jeanette Ford and husband Bill of Weatherford, John Frey and wife Stephenie of Amarillo, Tonya Hedtke and husband Christopher of Montgomery, and Billy Frey and wife Melissa of Elgin; his sister, Darla Frey of Amarillo; his niece, Brenda Miller and son Cody, and nephew Patrick Neal, his four-legged friends, Scooter and Tator; 23 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7:00PM-8:00PM Friday at the Funeral Home.
