William Clyde “Bill” Sharp, affectionately known as “Cowboy”, died June 18, 2013. He was 81 years old.
Rosary will be said at Schooler Funeral Home, at 6:00 p.m., Friday, June 21, 2013. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday June 22, in Brentwood Chapel, Schooler Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Wade officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Bill was born March 2, 1932 in Stratton, Nebraska to Leo and Helen Sharp. He graduated from high school in Nebraska and worked in Colorado. He joined the U.S Air Force and served for 11 years. Bill was retired from Bell Helicopter.
He enjoyed gems and minerals, buying and selling jewelry, wood working, and reading.
Bill married Mary Frances Handley on November 1, 1953. They were married for 45 years and had six children.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; a daughter, Sandra Kay Gutierrez; and his parents.
Survivors include his children: Susan Miller and husband Wayne, Joseph Sharp and wife Ayne, Wayne Sharp, all of Amarillo, Nina Blakeman and husband Scot of Tulia, and Mary Sharp of Escondido, California; a brother, Don Sharp of Amarillo; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, as well as a special friend, Flo Brofft.
