William “Leroy” Watley, age 75, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 10, in Brentwood Chapel at Schooler Funeral Home with his son, Michael Hill, officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. in Plainview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Leroy was born August 14, 1936 in Anton, Texas, to Floyd and Elfreda Watley. He married Rita Mae Pope on June 3, 1966, in Plainview.
Leroy served in the Army National Guard and was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church. He worked 35 years for Glidden Paint Company in Carrollton. He had been in the Amarillo community since 2006.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Randy DeSoutell of Pryor, OK, Mike Hill of Carrollton, Lynn Hill of Grand Prairie, and Bryant Watley of Carrollton; a daughter, Rebecca Buck of Dallas; three granddaughters, Lauren Hill and Lillian and Katie Buck; two sisters, Joyce Beam of Decatur and Ruby Ganzer of Aubrey; a brother, Lonnie Watley of Anna.
