Amarillo

William “Bill” Jasmin, age 81 of Amarillo entered into the gates of Heaven of January 28, 2023.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 10:00 AM at the Trinity Fellowship Student Ministry Center.  Burial will be at a later date in Roswell, New Mexico.

Bill was born October 12, 1941 in Northampton, Massachusetts to his parents George and Julia Murphy Jasmin. After high school he served in the US Army in Korea.

On November 1, 1975 he married Sue Phillips in Roswell.  Together, they would start a journey that would last the next forty seven years.

Bill owned Amarillo Stainless Steel Repair and Fabrication, serving the Amarillo restaurant committee for decades from 1980 until he sold the business.  Being a creative man, he didn’t stay still very long after retirement and began creating lamps out of all interesting things.  Bill was famous at the Community market for his robots he made as well.

He was a colorful man and sometimes could be rather ornery, perhaps even a little cantankerous but he loved his family and served God.  Bill and Sue were members of Trinity Fellowship where he was very active and involved.  He served as an usher and as a Sentinel for many years.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Kathy Sherman and Mary Ann Wornack; his brother, Dennis Jasmin; and by one grandson, Brandon West.

He is survived by his wife Frances Sue; his three daughters, Lori Starbuck of Amarillo, Tracy Starbuck of Midland and Becky Ogas and her husband Barney of Amarillo; his son Ray Starbuck and his wife Cheryl of Lucas, Texas; five grandchildren, Amanda, Marisa, Linsay, Joshua and Eli; nine great grandchildren; and his adopted daughter from Denmark Mette Kaarsberg Hansen and her husband Soren and their extended family whom he adored.
