She was raised in Martin Community near Clarendon and was a homemaker and a farmer until moving to Amarillo in 1967, where she worked as a clerk at the airbase until it closed.Willie married Charlie Buck Roberts in Clarendon in October of 1925. She has always loved Jesus and consistently attended church.  As an active member of Trinity Baptist Church, she worked faithfully in the nursery for 27 years, well into her 80’s. She had the pleasure of watching many of “her babies” grow up into adulthood.  She enjoyed family, children, church, sewing, every one of her birthdays and eating sweets (the obvious secret to her longevity)!  Willie was always known for her faith in God and for being a loving grandmother, mother and friend. She did not have a lazy bone in her body and woke up each day with a purpose along with the energy to fulfill it!  Her laughter and positive disposition was an encouragement to all who knew her, most especially her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Buck in 1967, a son, Charles Ray Roberts in November of 2004, as well as her parents, two sisters and a brother.Survivors include a daughter, Joveda Davis and husband Gene, 7 grandchildren, Cheryl Whatley and husband Jerry, Danny Davis and wife Becky, Charles E. Roberts, Stephanie Woodard and husband Ronny, all of Amarillo, Tony Davis and wife Cheryl of Colorado, Marelina Brown and husband Mike of Brady, Ronnie Gene Roberts and wife Lelia of Weatherford, 16 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on and she will be greatly missed. Her family is so proud to be a part of her and look forward to a great reunion someday!
