Winifred “Larry” Elkins, 73, died Sunday, April 5, 2015, in Amarillo.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel with Carolyn Gabel officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia.
Larry was born January 27, 1942 in Denison to Delma May Dawson. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church while in Borger. He married Yolanda Sue Loven in Borger in 1961. They moved to Amarillo in 1965. Larry retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 32 years. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking and was an artist and was a loving husband, father and papaw.
He was preceded in death by his mother; a brother, John Coker; and three sisters, Bessie Isom, Dorothy Oxendine, and Ruby Overturf.
He is survived by his wife, his daughter, Durinda Arenas and husband, Robert, all of Amarillo; a brother, Robert Elkins, of Longview; two grandchildren, Nathan and Sinjin Arenas and one great grandchild, Brycen Arenas, all of Amarillo.
