Winifred Amelia "Amy" Kutac

Amy Kutac 88, of Amarillo passed away on March 18, 2014.
A Memorial Mass was held on Friday, March 21, 2014 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Amarillo with Msgr. Harold Waldow officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home 4100 S. Georgia St.
Amy was born on October 30, 1925 in Winfield, Kansas to Corley and Florence Smith. She married Edward A. Kutac on May 3, 1947 in Austin, Texas. She was a good wife and her daughters were her greatest joy. Nothing made her happier than to be with her girls, shopping, eating lunch, or just visiting. She was a devoted volunteer for most her life, including for Sacred Heart Church and Pink Ladies at Holy Cross Hospital both in Austin.
Amy was a caregiver. Both her parents lived into their 90’s and she took great care of them. Family was her priority and up until the last week of her life, though often difficult for her, she attended the family dinner on Sundays where she enjoyed the company of her daughter and son-in-law and her grandson and his beautiful family. She will be greatly missed but we would rather see her with God in heaven than have her here struggling even one more day. We loved you, Mom, and thank you for the life you so generously gave to your family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and her sister, Virginia Embry.
Survivors include three daughters Mary Irish and husband Gary of Castroville, Anne Jones and husband Darrell of Fredericksburg, Lucy Jalbert and husband Richard of Amarillo; brother David Smith and wife Sue; three grandchildren Luke Jalbert and wife Christy, Mark Jalbert and wife Brandi, and Travis Jones and wife Laura; three great-grandchildren Ryan, Steven and Adam.
Family suggest memorials be made to Msgr. Waldow Scholarship Fund at St. Mary’s Cathedral School, 1200 S. Washington in Amarillo, 79102.
