Charlie Gaither

Charlie Gaither, 82, of Amarillo passed away December 30, 2020.

Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Schooler Funeral Home. Private Burial will be held for the family. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Mr. Gaither was born and raised in Goree, TX. He graduated from Goree High School. Charlie received a Bachelor’s Degree from East Texas State University and two Masters Degrees from West Texas State University. He moved to Amarillo in 1962 where he was employed with the Amarillo Public Schools for 12 years and Amarillo College for 25 years.

He married Charlotte Stahl in 1975 in Amarillo. He was a member of First Methodist Church in Goree. He served on the board of the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association, the Better Business Bureau Education Foundation Board and on the board for the Texas Association of Community Service and Continuing Education.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Charlotte, son, Brent Gaither of Denton, and daughter, Christy Gaither, of Houston.
