Linda Latham Hare

June 2, 1941 — April 16, 2015

Linda Sue Latham Hare, age 73, died April 16, 2015 after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She died in her home surrounded by family.

Services will be Saturday, April 18th at 10:00 am at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Murray Gossett and her nephew Rev. Brent Corbin co-officiating. Arrangements made by Schooler Funeral Home.

Linda was born on June 2, 1941 to Jess Benjamin and Kay Linder Latham in Amarillo, Texas. She was the oldest of seven children.

Linda graduated from Amarillo High School and attended the University of Texas at Austin. She married Walter Thomas (Tommy) Price III in 1958. They were married for 18 years and raised three children., Kathryn Lynn, Christian Elizabeth, and Walter Thomas (Four) Price, IV.

Linda was artistic, athletic, and successful in business. She studied Art at The University of Texas. She loved to draw, paint and sculpt. In her youth, her sport of choice was tennis. She was instrumental in bringing the T Bar M Racquet Club to Amarillo in 1973. She loved the game of golf and the lifelong friends she made along the way, all of whom celebrated her three hole-in-ones. She earned her Real Estate Brokers License and Private Pilots License.

Linda married Carl DeWitt Hare on July 11, 1986. They shared a passion for playing golf and traveling to exotic places. Splitting their time between Amarillo, Phoenix and Colorado Springs, they were able to play golf year round. Whether through Whirlpool’s “Best in the US” trips or personal trips, they filled up the pages of several passports. They visited every continent except Australia and Antartica.

Linda was preceeded in death by her parents Jess and Kay Latham and daughter in law Camille Curry Price.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Carl DeWitt Hare, her children, Kathy Price Dryden and husband, John, Christian Price Frazer and husband, Kip, Walter Thomas (Four) Price and wife, Karen, Randy Hare and wife, Tina, Kevin Hare and wife, Linda, and Christi Hare King and husband, Kelly, all of Amarillo.

Affectionately known as “Mimi” to her grand children, Price Ashley and fiancè Ava Lewis, Reaves Ashley, Abby Price, Curry Price, Brooke Barnhill, Cody Barnhill, Katie Dryden Smith and husband, Craig, Matt Dryden, Kelsea King Lancaster and husband Zack, Colton King, John Randall Hare, Christina Hare, Lexie King, and Jacob King.

Great grandchildren, Lyon Walters Smith, Marilyn Lancaster, Remington Lancaster, and Bennett King.

Siblings, Sally Latham Lawler, Jess Benjamin “Benny” Latham and wife, Connie, Larry Latham and wife Leigh Ann, Debbie Latham Corbin and husband Dale, Pam Latham and husband Tommy Dick, and Patti Latham Sadler and husband Bill.

Linda was “Aunt Linda”to 32 nieces and nephews, and 24 great nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express special thanks to the caregivers, Judy, Elsie, Gloria, B.J., and Lauren, who gently nursed her through the last few months.
