Sheila Welch-Cunningham

Sheila Welch-Cunningham, 58, passed away on August, 22, 2018 in Amarillo, TX.

A visitation will be held from 6-7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 24, 2018 at Hillside Christian Church Chapel West Campus, 6100 S. Soncy Rd. with Johnathan Mast as officiant. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home.

Sheila was born on November 25, 1959 to Wayne and Paula Welch in Amarillo, TX. In 1990, Sheila gave birth to Darbi Donaldson who was her pride and joy. Sheila married Glenn Cunningham on her birthday in 2005 joining their families into one loving union.

Sheila would give the shirt off her own back to anyone, which is why she made her career in occupational therapy in order to care for those in need. Her family and friends meant the world to her.  She loved having her home filled with people and laughter on holidays or any occasion.  Her heart was so much bigger than her body.

She loved her Amarillo High School Sandies, The Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys Football, and country music.

Sheila is survived by her husband, Glenn Cunningham; daughter, Darbi Donaldson; two step-children that she called her own, Rachel Cunningham, and Jason Cunningham & wife Mariana; her mother, Paula Welch; sister, Deborah Solis; and brother, Gregory Welch and husband, Neal Nossaman.

She is preceded in death by her father.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Amarillo-Panhandle Humane Society 3501 S. Osage St., Amarillo, Texas 79118. Sheila’s dream was to buy a ranch and save every dog and cat that needed a home.
